Heroic Moments:
The French and Indian War:
The French and Indian War began shortly following Washington's recruit to the army. George and a British General, Edward Braddock, were appointed to take Ohio back from the French. Braddock and Washington were ambushed by the French and Braddock was wounded beyond repair. George Washington gathered Braddock's troops and got all of them out alive.
The Revolutionary War:
During the Revolutionary War, the American military was the underdog. Britain had trained and skilled troops with a plethora of weapons and ammunition. Britain had a reputation of "The best in the world". America, on the other hand, had nearly no money, clothes, shoes, weapons, ammunition, artillery, medicine, first-aid, food (etc.) for the troops and mercenaries. Many colonists were reluctant to join the army because its chances of a victory were slim. Although most colonists declined the offer of fighting in the army, many decided to assist General George Washington on his fight for freedom. Washington's army was discouraged because of multiple losses against the British. Although the patriots were dispirited through these battles, Washington was always there to cheer his troops on, even in their most vulnerable times. He would remind his troops that they were fighting for happiness, liberty and freedom.
Without General George Washington, America would not be the country it is today because he was resilient to losses; he never gave up on himself or his troops. George Washington motivated his patriots to proceed on their fight for happiness, even when it seemed impossible.

The Battle of Trenton:
The two nations decided not to fight on Christmas. However, Washington needed a victory against the British. He was determined to strengthen his troops' self-esteem. Many members felt so discouraged and wanted to withdraw from the Washington's army.
The Hessian troops were caught by surprise when Washington's army attacked them in Trenton, New Jersey. This was a turning point for the Revolutionary War because the underdog, in this case the Patriots, proved to Britain that they were more than capable of winning this war.
